Twin Cessna Flight Training Syllabus
Course Times: Two Day Recurrent, Three-Five Day Initial
or to proficiency.

Preflight Action:
Conduct a thorough preflight inspection of the aircraft. Discuss systems in general as they relate to switches or control from the cockpit. Acknowledge and review instrumentation applicable to that aircraft.

Aircraft Systems:
Obtain a working knowledge and understanding of all aircraft systems. Review emergency procedures and discuss judgment regarding the decision making following equipment malfunctions.

Instrument Airwork - Pre and Post Flight Briefs:
Review basic airwork and basic instrument skills; determine speed, power and pitch settings, go-around procedures and no flap landings. Emphasize instrument approach and departure procedures, missed approaches, circling approaches, use of autopilot, cockpit organization and resource management.

Multi-Engine Flight Operations:
Discuss multi-engine thought processes, power plant failure planning, decision making and judgment. Master engine-out procedures in a simulator (pilots option to use the aircraft)

Limitations and Performance:
Review the limitation and performance sections of the Pilot Operating Handbook

Weight and Balance:
Assure understanding of the principles of weight and balance. Discuss effects of improper loading.

Use of Checklists:
Discuss checklist use, technique and timing applying it to normal, abnormal and emergency procedures.

Safety of Flight:
Discuss a medley of aviation subjects selected by the pilot and the instructor; i.e. icing, low visibility, thunderstorms, wind sheer, weather radar, stormscope, high altitude flight, crosswinds, etc.
